Helsinki to Atlanta via Amsterdam flight questions

Looking at a return flight for next June: Helsinki to Atlanta via Amsterdam

Helsinki to Amsterdam leaving Helsinki 1:55PM.
1 hour 45 minute layover Amsterdam
Then on to Atlanta

Its one ticket, both flights Delta Operated by KLM. Since its mid afternoon I would hate to miss the last flight back to US. Is it enough time?

I assume bags will be checked thru so I don't have to pick up in Amsterdam, but I will have to go thru a passport check in Amsterdam. Does that all sound right.
Never made connection in EU before so just want more info.

Thx

Your passport will be checked in Amsterdam as that's where you leave the Schengen area. But apart from that you just walk to your next gate.

When we exited the Schengen Area at AMS (FCO-AMS-SEA) in October, we used the E gates, which made it very quick and efficient.

Yes, bags will be checked all the way through to Atlanta. You will not need to pick them up at Amsterdam.

Yes, you will go through Passport control at Amsterdam.

I've had return connections through Amsterdam at least a dozen times. I would be willing to accept a 1 hr 45 min connection at Amsterdam in the afternoon.

My experience transiting through Amsterdam’s (AMS) has been outstanding. As long as your originating flight is on schedule and discounting any unforeseen issues then the transfer time seems excellent.
