help with flights for RS Best of Eastern Europe trip

I am struggling to find flights for our RS Best of Eastern Europe trip. We want to explore Vienna before heading to Prague for the start of the tour. Once the tour has ended we want to finish in Venice. I've been trying for hours to find combinations departing from Canada to Vienna on May 31st and back to Canada from Venice on June 28th. Our local airport is Kelowna but we also have the ability to fly from Vancouver BC, Calgary, Edmonton or Toronto. My preference is premium economy.

I wish the multi site flight trackers would allow you select one option for going and another for your return. For example there's a KLM route that works well on our way to Vienna May 31st but KLM doesn't fly out of Venice on June 28th. There's good Lufthansa or British Airways connections out of Venice on June 28th but you don't seem to be able to pick and choose. If anyone knows how please let me know. I am willing to fly Air Canada but want to avoid Air Canada Rouge at all costs.

Has anyone found an ideal route? Thank you

What are your constraints? I see good flights from Vancouver on KLM, one change in Amsterdam each way. But the cost for a coach ticket is $1201 per person. (fly home via Delta and JFK instead of Amsterdam and the cost drops to $1,032, but I HATE JFK personally.) Is that just too expensive? (Also not ideal that you have to leave very early from Venice on the way home.)

Jpl, are you choosing "multi-city" rather than "one-way" or "roundtrip" before beginning your search? If you are, the problem is most likely that you don't get favorable fares when you don't stick to airlines in a single partnership. Or at least it seems that way to me.

You can book this as a multi-city trip Vancouver-Vienna and Venice-Vancouver on the BA website easily, but the one-stop flights have a fairly long layover at Heathrow. The fare for Premium Economy is CDN $2592 roundtrip, $900 more than Economy.

Agreed. You need to check the multi city option when you are looking at flights. If this still does not generate any viable flights for you, check out one way tickets. One way TO Europe. One way back. I usually find better deals on round trip tickets, even if they are open jaw (multi-city) BUT I've never tried that in Canada.
