I'm currently planning a trip to Austria and northern Italy, and I'm having a difficult time finding train fares from Innsbruck to Milan. The trenitalia site provides train schedules, but no fares, and there is some sort of server error that will not allow me to purchase the tickets from the website. I am not worried about buying the tickets in advance, but I would like to have a general idea of how much a one way train ticket from Innsbruck to Milan might be. I'm looking for a mid-week morning train. Thanks in advance for any help you can offer me!

go to the Austria Railway site ÖBB and search from there.
The trip is about 5-8 hrs, depending on the train/connections you choose. Ticket prices are nearly impossible to obtain online if you travel between countries. It might be worth making the call to the ÖBB Helpcenter for the information about the costs of the ticket.
There is just one non-stop train from Innsbruck to Milano, it leaves Innsbruck at 15:27 (3:27pm) and arrives at 20:35 (8:35pm). It is worth taking this train, even though the time is a little odd! If you have reservations for a hotel/B&B in Milano, they will understand about the time of arrival! Simply let them know about it in advance.

To get fares on the Trenitalia site, enter a date within 60 days for domestic routes and 90 days for international routes. The fares for the direct train given by Corinna are €55 for 2nd class and €80 for 1st class. You can travel earlier in the day by making one connection in Verona. The fares will be roughly the same.

According to German Rail, the 2nd class fare from Kufstein, Austria (a German/Austrian border station) to Milan is €77,40. But Innsbruck is a fair ways up the Inn river from Kufstein; the fare from Kufstein to Innsbruck is €15,20. So, the difference, €62,20 should be a close estimate.
From Trenitalia, the 2nd class fare from Innsbruck to Verona is €40 by EC and the fare from Verona to Milan is €14,30 by ES*Intercity. So €54,30 is another estimate.
