Me and my friends are going to Europe this july for 5 weeks. We're starting in London and then Spain then Italy to Albania(which is where i was bor and raised) to greece to amsterdam to france and back to london.
My question what is the best way to travel? By air? or By Train? Best way and cheapest and maybe fastest. Also if you guys have any tips on hotels i would love to read them i'll be okay in Albania and greece because i have family but the other countries i'm a little worried.
please feed me some good info
i appriciate it
Lucky guys,, you will have fun, and I am glad to see you are going for at least 5 weeks, it always amazes me when young people only go for a week or two,, this is the time of your life to take a good long trip!
First, I would really sit down with a map and possibly cut out one place.
A week a country is nice, plus places like London are very expensive so really 3 days there is all you need, and add extra time onto Greece , the islands are amazing and fun , with 10 days there you could spend time with family and visit an island or two.
There are some really cheap inter europeon flights available if you book now, and keep your luggage LIGHT. I am flying Rome to Paris for only 80 euros, and its only 1 1/2 hours, the train costs more and takes a full day or night.
Also , can you get an open jaw flight ? Fly into London and out of Amsterdam? It may be cheaper then having to waste time going back to London. Do the math carefully.

cont.
tripadvisor.com ,, plus google hostels,, they provide cheap rooms and many are very nice.
In Paris look at Hotel Perfect, not a hostel , but very cheap.
Why not asign each person in group to research some hotel or hostel choices in each city,, it shouldn't be all your work, otherwise they will blame you for any bad choices,, LOL
For Rome and Venice get cracking, Venice in particular is difficult to get any cheap rooms at all, in fact, if on a tight budget maybe skip Venice this time.
How many friends are travelling with you? Generally, hostels might be cheap for 1-2 travellers, but if there are 3 or 4 of you, a budget hotel or a family room in a B&B/guesthouse might run you the same or even less - and sometimes it's hard to book a triple or quad room in a hostel without a lot of advance notice, so they might split you and your buddies up and stick you in separate rooms wherever a bed is available.
If you are travelling in the summer months, I'd say you should definitely look into university housing. Many universities in big cities rent out dorm rooms to travellers during this time for cheap (from singles up to quads or even off-campus apartments). I stayed at university housing in London, Dublin and Belfast among other cities...great perks at many including free breakfast, free (or cheap) internet access, laundry facilities. And the locations of the unversity housing are usually prime - right near the tourist sights and easy access to transportation.
