Help?! No one way van rentals from Paris to Rome

Help!!? I'm trying to reserve a one way minivan rental from Paris to Rome in May. Autoeurope says they are not allowing one way rentals for vans during this peak season. We have a party of 6 but our itinerary is more suited to a car than trains. Any other suggestions?

If you could rent one van for the entire trip, you would pay a steep fee for picking up a vehicle in one country and dropping it off in another. Instead, rent one van for France and another for Italy. This should work for whatever route you take. Hee's one example: Drive to Nice and drop off the first van there. Take the train to Genoa. Pick up another van there and drive it to Rome.

Try Autoeurope.co.uk, but they may only have 5 pass vans. They have mucho better prices on vans. Read the fine print. Try Kayak. Best, and cheapest. Rent one for France. Then rent another in Italy, after you train or fly into Italy. Pick up in one town, and drop off in another. Be aware that you may not be able to pack six people, and their gear, in one van, unless you pack light. Have a great time!

Thank you so much for these ideas! I'll try that route. And yes- we'll be packing light! :)
