HELP! Discontinued overnight train from Paris to Barcelona

Does anyone know why Elipsos discontinued their overnight train from Paris to Barcelona? When I checked this summer, they were running trains overnight and I guess they stopped mid December. I am now trying to figure out how to get from city to city quickly without losing out on our valuable touring time. Are there any other companies who have trains running between those cities?

Thank you.

There is now a high-speed rail line that runs directly from Paris to Barcelona, taking about six hours.

The Paris/Barcelona night train has been discontinued in favor of faster day train runs. No other night trains. You can fly on www.vueling.com (a Spanish budget airline) from Paris-Orly to Barcelona in 90 minutes. Numerous flights each day including in the evening. Fares are as low as 49Euro for the early day flights. 89Euro and up for the evening flights.

If you absolutely insist on travelling overnight, there are still French couchette trains from Paris to the Spanish border at Portbou or Latour-de-Carol, from either of which you can get a Spanish train to Barcelona. The former is faster and coastal, the latter is slower but has some spectacular mountain scenery. See the Spain page at Seat 61 for details.
