HELP! Airline has Combined First & Middle Names

In January when I booked my teen daughter's flight from Seattle to Rome through Toronto, they first sent me a ticket that had misspelled her middle name, so it did not match her passport. They gave me a huge hassle when I called to correct it, saying it was not their policy to correct tickets with errors on middle names as they "don't matter." (Yes, a supervisor flat out told me they don't care if the name doesn't match the passport.)

They finally corrected the ticket, but still got the name wrong: they now have the first and middle names combined, as in Madisonkaye Smith when her name on her passport is Madison Kaye Smith. I went to register her with the TSA's new "Secure Travel" site and they list her as "Madisonkaye," so that's how she's registered. DOES ANYONE KNOW IF THIS WILL BE A PROBLEM GOING THROUGH PASSPORT SECURITY? I imagine Air Canada will refuse to issue a new ticket since they gave me so much hassle the last time. The error seems obvious, but she is flying home solo, and I don't want to set things up for her to have problems entering the US.
Thanks,
Janet
