Help! Air France Business Class worth it?

We are flying on the 777-300 and checked in to our flight. The offer is $505 per person to upgrade from our Premium Economy seats to Business. Is it worth the $1010 extra? We are in exit row Premium Economy now. It would move us up one row only to have side bi side seats. The rest are singles.

you should check out Seatguru, but more relevant would be to look for vloggers who have flown AF on that plane. Keeping in mind that each plane can be slightly different. Find out exactly what you get for your money, besides an amenity kit, headphones and a lieflat seat. Youtube is full of such flying vloggers, like Nonstop Dan and Paul Lucas.

AF has some seats in some planes that are real bummers. But 773s AF uses for long haul flights all have their herringbone, lay flat seat—thier best hard product.

I assume you're flying from Texas? Between priority check-in, lounge access, lay-flat.... I'd definitely drop the $505.

And if you're connecting in CDG you should have longe access there, too.

Oh, and... AF doesn't have the best PE seats, so moving out of them has some value.

I opt for the two single seats on the side with my husband in front or in back of me rather than the two seats in the middle. More private.

You are the first off the plane in biz. I sleep and it makes a difference. But, biz isn't as important to me flying west in the daylight, but I appreciate being able to sleep going east.

I'd find that mighty tempting, and I am neither tall nor wide. If I am vertical, I sleep like a baby.
Isn't business class usually several thousand dollars more?--seems like it might be too good to be true.

I would absolutely do it, and have done it. We're both tall and while we can sleep in PE seats, we sleep much better in Business.

Done and done. Hopefully we can see if we can move up further in the cabin to get off in a hurry for that one hr. connection to Nice. At the moment we are the last row of business class. They had two middle seats blocked off as not available at the moment that is in the forward part of the cabin. Does anyone know if the partition between the two middle seats go down so we can talk with one another?

There will be a topic on Flyertalk.com specifically addressing AF business seats and things like partitions.

Actually the rear of business probably exits before the front.

I don’t know CDG 2 but you may get an immigration or security fast line with business class.

No separate AF biz line for passport at CDG. Good move.

JR - The privacy partition between the center seats can be stowed. So you can have a pre-departure toast!

Thanks, everyone. Feeling relieved and will hopefully get some rest to make that fast track run through the airport to make that connection to Nice.

I had planned to pack my travel pillow and blanket when we were in Prem. Economy, and I would assume Business Class is no different when it comes to pre-packing used pillows and blankets? Or, are they cleaned ones? Would love not to have to drag extra stuff but I really like clean blankets.

Did you check both business class cabins for seats? Hope you’re able to move forward especially for the convenience. When I flew that Air France 777-300ER aircraft with 4 class layout 1 from JFK it (business class) was very comfortable and well worth it.

I find Air France Premium Economy seats to be atrociously bad for sleeping, so the upgrade seems worth it!

Pillow and blanket are fine in biz. The middle seats have quite a bit of space between them, so it’s not easy to chatter away after takeoff.

AF Premium Economy is atrocious for sleeping. The plastic shell doesn’t move but the cushion does causing horrific back pain according to reviews by The Points Guy.

We did the upgrade. I will say it was good to be able to stretch out, but neither of us got much sleep. The cabin was a bit dated, and still think the business class on Lufthansa's A-380 was top notch. The seats were like recliners with the seats adjusting to all types of situations. The meals were ok, the beef was actually quite good. The movies were very old movies. We had already seen so many, and new movies were few and far between. We were comfortable and I was glad that I was able to stretch out.

"biz isn't as important to me flying west in the daylight"

I agree, however, I've come to enjoy having my own little space so much, that I book business class both ways.
