Two twenty something girls stopping off in London for the night. Our hotel is in SE1 and we dont know what the best and safest way would be to get from point A to B at 10pm. Please help!
I used to live in a flat in SE1 ... At 10pm you will be quite safe and I would suggest just taking the tube. Where is your hotel in SE1? The advice on how to get there depends on where your hotel is located.
Thank you so much. We might stay at the Mad Hatter hotel. We are actually still looking for a place :)
The Mad Hatter... Google tells me it is just south of Blackfriars Bridge, an area I walk through regularly going to or from Waterloo station. The closest Tube station is Southwark, which is on the Jubilee line. Coming in on the Piccadilly line from Heathrow, change to the Jubilee line at Green Park, make sure you get on the east bound Jubilee, and it's 3 stops from there. From Southwark station turn left into Blackfriars Road, and Stamford Street is maybe 300 metres on your left. At that time of night I think I might find somewhere to stay north of the river, and closer to where I got off the Tube. More for convenience than safety. Also, that hotel is right next to the junction with Blackfriars Road, there are traffic lights, it's a busy road and it may well be noisy quite late into the night.
