Hello! what is the best way to get to Heathrow London to Paris France? And once in France what's the best way to get around and into Italy? Many Thanks.
Esmeralda
First, it would be useful to define what "best" means to you. Often people say best when they really mean cheapest. Our personal preference and for us, the best way, is via trains. Sometimes slower and not always the cheapest but it relaxing and convenient. Heathrow to Paris would probably be best via air since you are already at the airport. If in London, then an advance ticket for the Eurostar would probably be best. If in northern France and you want to go to southern Italy, then a low cost airlines would probably be best. But if in southern France and you want to go to northern Italy, then a train would probably be best. Get the idea. You question needs a few more details before anyone can offer a reasonable answer beyond it depends.
Part 1: Walk over to the British Airways counter and buy a ticket to Orly. Part 2: Need more details.
Thank you Frank! By "best" I mean little headache. I think I'm leaning towards flying from London into Paris and making our way down into the South of France within a week and then heading into Italy for about the same time until we end in Spain for the last 5 days. What's your train recommendation from South of France into Northern Italy? EuroStar? Thank you both and Ed and Frank for your help. Esmeralda
I would take whatever train was available. The Eurostar is the name of the train that connects Paris or Brussels through the tunnel to London. If in the south of France headed to Italy it probably would be IC trains and maybe a high speed but it will depend greatly on where you are and where you want to go. Use bahn.de to check schedules and routes available in that area. Trains are not always the quickest way but we prefer trains just for the convenience. None of that crazy airport security, 3 0z, etc., no get there early to wait, no only flight at 11:30. No jammed seats, or over crowd aisle ways. Trains are just so much more comfortable and convenient.
Q1. Fly. You're already at the airport. Q2. Where in France, where in Italy?
You are at Heathrrow, easy to fly on to Paris. Book now and see if you can get them to connect your tickets so that they transfer your luggage from one flight to the next. Saves so much time if you can just stay "in transit" even if you have to change terminals
