Heathrow to London via Nat'l Express: Necessary to Book in Advance?

I'm traveling to London with my gran in June. The bus seems to be the best way to get from Heathrow to our hotel, as we're staying in Belgravia at a B+B that is a five minute walk away from Victoria Coach Station.
I was wondering if it is absolutely necessary to book our tickets ahead of time. I don't want to run the risk that our flight will be late and we'll miss our ticketed time, but I also don't want to have to hang around the airport for two hours waiting for the bus. For those of you that have done this before: is it unwise to just buy tickets before we ride? We should be arriving around eleven on a Tuesday. Will the bus really be all booked?

Ken--yes, it is; it's the B+B Belgravia. Thank you to everyone--not booking in advance will save a lot of grief.

My experience with the bus and show and go. You would also have the tube option but it would require one line change and about an hour total time.

Charlotte,

As the others have said, you should have no trouble finding a Coach and hopefully it will just be a short wait.

The Victoria Coach station is in a very convenient location to the Victoria / Belgravia area. Is your B&B on Ebury Street?

Charlotte,

Thanks for the clarification. If you're in the mood for good Italian food, try Santini's (also on Ebury Street). It's a bit pricey but I found the food to be great.
