Heathrow to Bath Hotel

Has anyone used this company for transfers to our first hotel on Rick's Best of England tour? Any feedback appreciated.

I have not.

Question?

Why not take the train? Heathrow Express or the Elizabeth line to Paddington Station ( quite impressive on its own) and then a GWR ( great western train ) to Bath. Think its about 1.5 hour ride.

Taxi or walk to where ever the RS tour hotel is.

You may also want to look into National Express Coach, which goes directly from Heathrow to Bath without the need to backtrack to London for the train.

We've decided to make it as easy on ourselves as possible. We have a 2-hour drive to the airport, at least 3 hours waiting for a flight and almost 8 hours flight. Don't really want to wait for the train and lug our baggage on and then onto another train at Paddington. Then a taxi ride to the hotel. It's a little more expensive to get a transfer but at our age (70s) we feel we can afford a little less stress.😃

As for National Express because we're landing on a Saturday the schedule would require us to wait about 3 hours for earliest bus.

Haven't used that particular company, but have used a car service based in Bath to go to another airport, and would not hesitate to use them from Heathrow to Bath. The site is chauffeurtravel.co.uk and the email address is [email protected]. We sent an email detailing our needs and had a reply within 24 hours.

No idea about the price since we didn't actually go from Heathrow to Bath. But it will be well worth the price due to the hassle factor of public transit, time involved, and being jet lagged while on unfamiliar turf.

There is nothing better than having a driver meet you in the terminal and wisk you to your destination.

I have used Windsor Cars officed in Slough and been very satisfied. It was only for a Heathrow to WIndsor trip, but they do longer trips also.

The train and bus station in Bath are adjacent. I have travelled both by bus and train this year. The bus is good, but subject to delays due to highway construction and road conditions. The train is a better mode of transport. Worth the backtrack.
