Heathrow terminal 4 to terminal 5

I have never been to LHR and need to know if I can go from terminal 4 to terminal 5? (Friend coming in on T5) WE are catching the Nation Express to Gatwick and are trying to decide where to meet. Terminal 5 or main station? How do I get to both from terminal 4?

I suggest that you meet at the Central Bus Station. See here. A free transfer between terminals is available using Heathrow Express and Heathrow Connect trains.

I vote for the central bus station, too -- much easier to spot each other there, as opposed to one of the terminals, and you both have to go there anyway.

There is a free shuttle bus that will take you to T5.
The same bus will take you to the central coach station.

National Express coaches also leave from T5 as well as from T4.

If you don't decide to meet up in the central coach station a good place to meet in either T4 or T5 is in front of the Avis Car Rental stand. It's impossible to miss it.

So I can buy a ticket to Gatwick on the Express from T5 or do I have to go back to the central station?

The National Express site shows service from T5 and the CBS to Gatwick but not from T4.

Hi Barb,

... we don't have answers to your questions, but thought you might like to know that many years ago at Heathrow, waiting for a boarding announcement, we saw on the display board the first flight of the day of British Air to Moscow ... FLIGHT # 007. Who knows, you may see it even today... Have a great trip. P

You can buy a ticket online before your trip if you want -- www.nationalexpress.com. I don't know if you can buy your ticket at T5, but I would assume you could.

Perry:

Airline Dispatchers (the people who pick the flight numbers) do have a strange sense of humor. Take Continental flight 1492 from Houston to Columbus, Ohio or Continental flight 1776 fron Houston to Philadelphia, PA. United had flight 777 from San Francisco to Las Vegas, but they have renumbered it.
