We were in the process of buying train tickets from Heathrow 5 to Bath Spa and reached the point where it asked to enter the location of the self-service machine where we wished to collect our tickets and their was no listing for Heathrow, only our connection at Paddington Station. Do we need to book seperately from another site other than national express rail to get the first leg from Heathrow to Paddington and on to Bath? Many thanks.

There is no national rail station at Heathrow. You will need to take either the very expensive Heathrow Express or the much cheaper Heathrow Connect from Heathrow to Paddington.
