Arriving Heathrow T5 Sunday at 0620. After going through customs is there a National Rail to York right from the airport? Taking train from Heathrow to York, then two days later York to Edinburgh, after four days Edinburgh to Glasgow, would a three day Flexipass or the National Rail with senior card best choice? Thanks, ST
Pretty sure you will need to get to Kings Cross station in London. Not aware of any direct trains from Heathrow.
There is no mainline railway station at Heathrow, so your options are: 1. Underground - Piccadilly Line to London Kings Cross, then a direct train to York. The Tube takes about an hour, but it's cheap. Lots of fast trains to York, needn't be expensive if you can book well in advance 2. Heathrow Express or Heathrow Connect to London Paddington, change to the Underground (Circle Line) to Kings Cross and then as above by direct train. It will be a bit quicker than the Tube but will cost significantly more 3. Get the Railair coach to Reading railway station. There are very few direct trains from there to York, so you will probably need to change at Birmingham New Street I'd go for option 1. Use www.nationalrail.co.uk to see tickets and prices. More information is needed to answer your other questions. How much is the Flexipass? How many in your party? What is your arrival date? What are you doing after Glasgow?
Thanks, appreciate the info you shared. This will be most helpful.
