Going to London, then Spain (3 weeks), and then back to London on our way to Egypt, can I leave a suitcase at the airport while I go to Spain (Egypt will require additional/different clothing. Thx

There are "left luggage" facilities in every terminal at LHR. The rate is 6.5 pounds per day so it might be a bit expensive to do so.
Facilities are located at:
Terminal 1: Arrivals concourse, next to the lifts for Heathrow Express. Open 06:00 - 23:00.
Terminal 2: Near the Lufthansa check-in desk. Open 05:30 - 23:00.
Terminal 3: Departures, check-in zone C, opposite Turkish Airlines, open 06:00 - 22:00. Arrivals hall, near car hire desks, open 05:00 - 23:00.
Terminal 4: West end of the arrivals hall. Open 05:30 - 23:00.
Terminal 5: Arrivals concourse, UK arrivals end; Departures Level, next to the Customs desks. Both open 05:30 - 23:00.
