Heathrow Liquid Limit update

Heathrow scraps 100ml liquid container limit

Passengers at Britain's biggest airport, Heathrow, can leave liquids in containers up to two litres in their bags while going through security, after it finally completed the rollout of new high-tech CT scanners.

Electronics such as laptops can also be left in luggage, while clear plastic bags for liquids no longer have to be used.

I was shocked when I left Edinburgh last July that there were big signs saying liquids of up to 2L could go thru and neither liquids or electronics needed to come out of your bag.

Just keep in mind, if flying back to the US and connecting at your port of entry, TSA will still require 311.

OK if your first stop in the US is your final destination (most airports), same with destinations in the rest of Europe.

Last spring departing Amsterdam, I started to put my bag through the screening then remembered an unopened water bottle. I said to the very friendly security guy I was going to pull my bag off because I forgot about an unopened water bottle. He said "no it is fine, we have our ways, and higher tech screening."
