HEATHROW EXPRESS PROMO CODE

Will be arriving London Heathrow in Oct with my beautiful wife for a week and want to take the Heathrow Express to downtown, Paddington Sta., then a cab to hotel by High HOLBORN tube stop. Want to purchase e-ticket in advance so as not to goof up due to jet lag and wanting to expedite trip to London proper after all-nighter. The website has a space for "promo code"... anyone know a good one?

Take the Heathrow Connect, it costs less than half as much as Heathrow Express.

It travels the same route, but makes a few more stops and thus takes a little longer [29 minutes instead of 15 minutes]

Heathrow ->London Paddington £7.40

Heathrow Express
Heathrow->London Paddington £16.50

Or, you could really save money and take the Tube. The Piccadilly line goes from Heathrow Airport and stops at the Holborn tube station. No need to even change a train. Cost for the two of you is 8 GBP. The Heathrow Express plus cab will run 3-4 times that.

Ed - You could take the tube from Heathrow Underground Station take the Piccadilly Line towards Cockfosters or Arnos Grove to Holborn station. The travel time is about an hour and the fare is £4.00, alot cheaper than the Heathrow Express or Connect and a taxi. You can go to www.tfl.gov.uk and find out alot of information about the tube. You can also purchase an Oyster Card at Heathrow airport.

The problem with either the Heathrow Express or Heathrow Connect is that they terminate at Paddington Station. Unless you are staying in that neighborhood, you will end up with a taxi or Tube ride from there. It probably wouldn't take any longer to take the Piccadilly Tube line from the airport. Either way, you will have to handle your own luggage except for the taxi part.

Just follow signs to the Underground. One person stays with the luggage while the other negotiates the tickets. If you buy Oyster cards at Heathrow, you will make your week of travel more convenient. Then "top-up" the Oyster when needed, or buy a one week pass at the start of your stay.
