We just learned of a British Airways strike set for September 9 and 10, when we were notified that the leg of our trip from Heathrow to Vienna was cancelled. Fortunately our flight from Pittsburgh to Heathrow is on the 8th and therefore not affected.
It's September 9, 10 and 27.
My flight back to the U.S. was on the 9th and I have already gotten word of its cancellation. They are letting me book on any other day space permitting. I'm going to extend my trip by 10 days.
Watch your flights. If your flight is affected or is on a day in the strike get on the internet and look for options. Then get on the phone, yes you may be on hold a while, and start getting things changed. DO NOT wait for the airline to contact you because while you are waiting others are grabbing the better options.
I would only take a refund as a last resort as you may find current airfare is a lot higher than your current fare.
I was able to rebook online. It only took a few minutes.
Thanks all.....My amazing wife was able to rebook us to leave two days earlier. Two extra days of vacation. Not gonna complain too loudly about that. Per my wife BA customer service was very helpful.
