We are looking at flying to London via Air Brunei and just wondering how it compares to other airlines for seat size, comfort and food - it appears from their website that the plane size is typically smaller.
Royal Brunei compares to all of the other Asian carriers, which means they're pretty big in service etc. Brunei is a Muslim country so the airline is "dry" but you can consume your own alkohols that you bought at the airport prior to your flight's departure (if needed). Their flights to Europe usually are operated by Boeing 767-300s, which is an American aircraft and is also part of e.g. Qantas' fleet.
Hi Pam,
we travelled with them 12 months ago and whilst my other o/s travel was some years ago, we didn't find them a problem. Would travel with them again. The seats seemed as okay as plane seats go. Comfort was okay. Some of the food items were interesting, but we enjoyed what we ate. No alcohol, but we didn't miss it, although I was told you can take some and serve yourself. The only hiccough along this line was on the last leg home, we got a meal just after leaving Brunei and then nothing more, and we were a bit peckish when we landed - about 10pm. Let me know if you want more info.
Thanks for your replies - we have 4 children in tow this time and their prices are so much more competitive than the other airlines as they count children up to 17 years - so we were hoping they would be a reasonable airline!!
thanks
Pam
Well, they are. So feel free to fly Royal Brunei. By the way, I don't know if it fits your time budget but staying in Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei's capital, is quite exciting, too - for one night. ONE night. ;-)
