We are scheduled to be in Naples this July and would like to see Positano. Change of plans since private tours coming in at 450 Euros, etc. so we are busing to Sorrento and then want to taxi to Positano. Are taxis readily available going both directions and if so, does anyone know the cost? Many thanks!

You will have to negotiate a rate with the taxi driver, but can often pay around 80 euros for a straight one way ride from Sorrento to Positano.

The blue Sita buses are being replaced by new red buses.
This company charges 50 euro for the Sorrento - Positano journey, Local official taxis are horribly expensive in Sorrento.

It isn't clear from your post, but if you were thinking of going to Naples to Sorrento and Positano just for the day, reconsider. I did this, and found it a waste. Positano and Sorrento are places to linger in; by seeing them in a day, I didn't enjoy them at all, and just spent a lot of time in transit.
