Has anyone booked a hotel room using Roomhopper?

Has anyone ever booked a hotel using Roomhopper? I cant seem to find too much information or reviews on it but there prices are much lower than Hotels.Com. Appreciate any input or information. Thank you

I think it is always beneficial to check all sources when looking for a room, but my short trial with Roomhopper was disapointing. I searched a date in March '17 for a town I know well. It has lots of places to stay. Roomhopper only showed one property, and I was shocked at the price. When I tried hotels.com for the same town and date, it showed three properties, of which the one also shown on Roomhopper was the most expensive and less on Hotels than the price shown on Roomhopper. I thought maybe March bookings weren't shown yet so I tried late December '16 with the same results.

It appears to me that Roomhopper has a very limited selection of the most expensive hotels.

In comparison, booking.com, of which I am not a fan, shows 23 properties for the March date in the same town, almost all of them for less.

But anytime you use a booking website, you will find yourself limited to the most expensive half or third of the properties in town. It's better to find the places through other sources (Google Maps, town website) and contact the properties directly. I've used this method for over 150 nights in Germany and saved a lot of money.

I usually try to book direct at the hotel's website. Often this brings a discount or a special perk such as free breakfast or a room upgrade.
