Happy-Weekend-Ticket in Germany (Schönes-Wochenende)

I want to use the Happy Weekend Tickets for our family (of 4) for travel to Munich from Salzburg and then Munich to Fuessen and then later that night from Fuessen back to Munich.

If I read stuff right (http://www.bahn.de/p/view/international/englisch/travelservice/price_tourist.shtml) all the legs of this trip should cost us a total of 33 Euros. Seems like a great deal.

Questions are: I can't seem to reserve all 3 legs on bahn.de with the same Happy Weekend Ticket. Do I not need reservations?

Secondly, I have 2 weeks before I leave the US, should I risk having them mail me the tickets (etickets do not seem to be an option). What is the downside if I show up without having my mailed tickets -- I will obviously have my credit card and reservation number -- will they honor that?

From my experience, you can purchase the ticket at most of the ticket machines in the station in Munich. Buying from the machine worked fine for me in 2005.

The Happy Weekend Ticket is only good on local trains--and no reservations are possible on those trains. You simply jump on a train whenever you wish. Buy the ticket from a ticket machine--or at a ticket window for an extra €2.

Use a Bayern-Ticket, not a Schönes-Wochenende-Ticket. A Bayern-Ticket costs only €27 and is valid on exactly the same trains. The Bayern-Ticket can also be used for the buses between Füssen Bhf and Hohenschwangau; I don't think the S-W-T can.

The only advantage to the S-W-T is that you can use it in all the states (Länder) across Germany, but your travel is entirely within Bavaria*, so you don't need it.

The regional trains that you use with this ticket don't have reserved seats, but I have traveled all over Bavaria using Bayern-Tickets and have never had a problem getting a seat.

*except the stretch of track between the Austrian border and Salzburg, which is run by DB and therefore accepts the Bayern-Ticket.
