Only time will tell if this airline actually takes off. My favorite Richard Branson quote certainly comes to mind with this — “the quickest way to become a millionaire in the airline business is to start out as a billionaire.”

Seems to be a fitting last paragraph for the article.

The founders seem to have a proven track record of 'expenses exceeding revenue' business model

Well, this news makes me happy. Loved NA, and even if this new iteration only lasts as long as NA did I’ll be very happy to fly with them.

I've heard they already signed three pilots--Larry, his brother Darryl and his other brother Darryl!

From Laker Airways in the 1970s to Norwegian, the no frills transatlantic route is difficult to run at a profit. Launching a new airline this year must take some gutsy/insane financial backers.

Ah! Larry, Darryl & Darryl brings back great memories of the Bob Newhart show, I’ll never forget that first episode they appeared in was amazingly funny.

Hope the new airline is successful, the cost of transatlantic flights is getting so expensive that it makes it difficult for many to see “Europe through the back door “.

For those looking for a good, budget airline, similar to Norwegian Air, check out French Bee Airline.

Cool! They’re planning selling tickets beginning mid-summer 2021, and flying beginning December 2021. If that all can happen, then London, Paris, and Oslo would be accepting passengers from places like Miami, Los Angeles, and New York. Hopefully that all works out. We could maybe even take the planned trip that got sidelined last year, especially if Denver becomes another departure city!

If those used 737’s are airworthy, this might just work out. Perhaps the Bjorns will get a good return.

I can't say I expected to read that and I have say I am a bit sceptical. But time will tell I guess.

I hope they've got a whoooole lot of money behind them. At one time, Norwegian Air was the second largest budget airline in Western Europe.

Then Norwegian Air got into flying ultra low cost flights out of many places in the U.S. I think we've flown them 5-6 times.
But they never turned a profit.

We do badly need competition in the Transatlantic air market to keep rates down. It was Norwegian Air that's provided us the ability in recent years to go to Europe 1-2 times per year. Without someone like them, we could be dead ducks--and stuck in the U.S.
