Has anyone ever hired (rented) a vehicle through Green Motion Car Hire in the UK before? I'm rent one for 29 days this August through them and they have been a nightmare with changing my prepaid booking. For something that should have been a few clicks in the booking system and partial refund it has been 20 days and I still do not have a new booking in my email inbox. After going back forth between the branch where I am picking up the vehicle (Heathrow) and the International Headquarters' office, also in the UK, for 18 days they determined that a prepaid booking could NOT be simply changed but had to be cancelled and a new booking had to be done. I got the refund on the original booking finally after 15 days, but now I'm still in the limbo having just an email saying the vehicle I have requested has been reserved for me, but I have no booking number.
I was really looking forward to trying out a "green" vehicle company other than hiring from one of the large American companies, e.g., Hertz. I've hired "green" vehicles from them in the past in several countries with no problems with changing out the vehicles, even during the leasing period, but their booking fees are at least 1/3 higher for the same type of vehicle (VW Golf TDI manual).
I hope this turns out to be only a snafu and not the whole leasing period of horror as I will be in the SW England for about 17 weeks in 2015 and wanted to find a reliable, affordable agency to work with on a long-term lease.

A place I worked at a few years ago used them as one of their corporate hire car suppliers. I don't recall anything particularly unreliable about them.
