Granada to Lisbon by bus or train

I want to take a bus or train from Granada to Lisbon (or Porto). I could fly (expensive and long). What's the best combo - train to Madrid, bus to Lisbon, etc? Much Obliged!

Bus with www.alsa.es Granada to Lisbon - 11 hours(ish). Or as two legs Granada to Seville, Seville to Lisbon with the same, similar time.

I haven't been that route. Train service is good to Seville. I'd probably go that far by train then bus.

As much as I would (generally) prefer train, I did not give G. to S. by train as it will mean making your way from the train station to the bus station in Seville.

If I had to do this, I would probably go to Madrid and take the night train. Which is expensive, so maybe flying is better. Or rearranging your itinerary so that your last stop before Lisbon is something more transit-friendly than Granada.

I disagree with the premise that flying is expensive and long. It can't be nearly as long as the bus or train. There are discount airlines that you should be able to find an economical flight. You might need to fly out of Sevilla or Malagra, but those are only a few hours away by bus or train. There is only one rail connection between Spain and Lisbon. That is a single overnight train from Madrid. As overnight trains go, it is fine. But why waste so much time and effort to get to Madrid and then a mostly sleepless night on a train? As has been pointed out, the bus will take you over 11 hours (7 hour trip from Sevilla).

I found a cheap non stop flight from Malaga to Lisbon, so I'll bus to Malaga from Granada then fly. Thanks to all for your responses.
