Will the Garmin GPS unit that I have in my car here in the U.S. work in Europe? I can't see buying a new one if mine will work there. I will be using it to drive in England & Germany.
probably not, because more than likely you only have US maps loaded, you would need to check. if not you would need to load maps for Europe/UK ( assuming your unit has enough memory or system to load extra maps), check the garmin web site for more details. 'sometimes' it is nearly just as cheap to buy a new unit than purchase more maps ( assuming your GPS can even handle more maps)
I loaded extra maps, for europe and the UK, at home before our trip as the file sizes can be large. I could buy combined europe and UK maps for my TOM TOM.
hope this helps
Yes, definitely! You will need to get the right chip. We have used ours all over Europe, including England and Germany.
chip may be the wrong word...you do need to purchase/load Europe maps
I've used my Garmin in Europe many times. Go to Garmin's website and you can either purchase an SD card with the maps you need or they can be downloaded. Cost is between $69.99 and $99.99 depending on your needs.
