Good price on Ven. to Inns. train seat 90 days out but no seat reserv. yet?

I am traveling from Venice to Innsbruck on June 15th. Today is the first day I can buy the nonstop train tickets and when I went on the Bahn website to do that the price is 29 Euro, which is great! However, the seat reservations are not available until 60 days before travel. Am I safe creating a profile, purchasing the tickets without a seat reservation and then logging into my profile in 30 days to get the seat reservations? Would I be just as safe purchasing the reservations at the Venice train station on June 14th? Thanks!

Valerie, 55 euro is the standard price, in order to see 29 euro tickets you should choose discounted offer "Europa" (in tariffs in the beginning)
Regarding the reservation it seems that maybe there will be some change (like different train or something) that is why they don't know yet how to sell reservations. If I were you, then I would probably wait till tomorrow and see whether Trenitalia will open sale for further date, if they do, then just wait another few days till your date will be available. If not, then better to buy now 29 euro tickets (it's a good deal) and worry about reservation later, don't think the train will be so full that you won't be able to buy it when already in Italy

It's a bit weird since tickets for direct trains (either daytime Eurocity or night train) all require seat reservation and with discounted tickets (like 29 euro one) it is usually already included
Maybe you should try purchasing the same ticket via Italian rail company website - http://www.trenitalia.com? They also have them from 29 euro

Well, I tried the trenitalia website and it will only sell that ticket through June 8th and no later. Also, it's 55Euro for a ticket on the 8th and I need three tickets, so that's a substantial price difference. Any thoughts on the big price difference? And is it possible to buy the tickets from Bahn right now and then purchase a seat reservation in 30 days? Thanks!!!

Hi When you go through the purchasing stages, there is an option to make the reservation , I just went and checked our tickets for 4 may so yes register now, and get them,
I,d suggest you book Verona to Innbruck via obb, then get any number of the Venice to Verona trains running pick on on how quickly you need to be in Verona . Ours leaves Verona PN, at 11.02 Regards
