I am going to be in Southern Italy and need to go to Croatia. I have been going crazy trying to figure out a way to get there. It is too expensive to fly. Can anyone help. Joan
There are ferrys from several places on the Italian coast to various places in Croatia. Check the here:

Joan,
if you haven't done so, you might want to head over to the East helpline...we've had quite a bit of info going back forth on Croatia
You might be interested in some info I've put together on one of my webpages for our Croatia trip

Buon Viaggio
You could take a train to Bari and the overnight ferry to Dubrovnik. Most ferries then continue up the coast to Split and Rejika (other stops along the way). You can find schedules and prices at www.jadrolinija.hr. Jadrolinija has a link to customer service in english and they are very helpful. If you don't like that option, watch to see if Air One will add seasonal flights to Croatia this year. Air One is a nice Italian airline and they sometimes offer good specials - no premium for one-way flights. You're right though, current Croatia Airlines fares from Italy to Croatia are ridiculously expensive.
