Hi. I'm planning on arriving London on Sept. 4 and taking the Eurostar train from London to Paris on Sept 6. I have a 15-day consecutive Global pass that I'm not going to use until Sept 9. My question is, can I still buy a discounted Eurostar passholder ticket even though my Global pass won't be validated until Sept 9? Any replies will be helpfull.. Thanks!!!
I found this statement on the Eurostar website, Questions and Answers section, #96 Passholder fares, "As long as you are in possession of your pass on the day of travel, it is not necessary to validate it first. "
Thanks Lee. That's exactly what I'm looking for. It's too bad that I cannot purchase it online.
Unfortunately, the Eurostar "passholder" fare is no deal. They charge 50 gbp, about $100, (non-refundable but changeable once) which is only a few bucks cheaper than the lowest one-way fare they offer on their website. If you wish to book ahead of time, you can call 011-44-1233-617-575 and they'll add in a 3 GBP ($6) service fee. Or you can simply go on line and book a cheap ticket at $106, if available (note...non refundable or changeable). Or (biting my tongue as I offer this), check out RailEurope.com. They're still offering some passholder fares for your date at $90. Add in their shipping fee, and it'll work out the same. Enter departure and destination, and date, then check the little box that reads "Click this box if you have a Rail Pass."
