Global Entry resumed this morning at 5 AM ET.
Thank goodness. Thanks for the update, Frank!
This was mentioned on the PBS NewsHour today as well; yippee.
I’ll be curious if it stays open
I was talking to one of my neighbors who works for an airline at the Atlanta airport and they are seeing an increase in sick calls etc. for these unpaid federal employees.
she was suggesting we plan to get to the airport earlier because at some point people are going to get tired of working for free
Carol, this is Global Entry not TSA Pre-check. You can't get to the airport early.
It's easier to process arriving passengers through Global Entry because they have been prescreened. The fees we have paid for this privilege is supposed to cove the cost of Global Entry.
Frank, it's the same "government shutdown" If Immigration agents start calling in sick because they are tired of working without pay then you could see issues.
