I already made my GE and TSA Pre wort it. Got it free through my credit card. I arrived on AF from CDG at SFO this summer. From the plane home with checked luggage took 90 minutes and I live near San Jose.
GE is about the same time as arriving domestically. I will use it again coming back from Iceland at Seattle.

We signed up for PreCheck rather than GE since we only leave the US once a year. In hindsight, we should have paid the extra $15 for five years of GE.
We love GE too. Best time saving was through JFK in ten minutes while the immigation lines were huge.
Worked great for my wife too but I hit a bit of a snag. We both set up GE last year but I had to renew my passport this year. YOU have to go back to the GE site after you get your new passport and UPDATE the passport number. It's not done automatically with the passport renewal. STUPID ME! I never saw anything on the GE site about having to update your renewed passport numbers in the future so when I tried to do GE with my wife at LAX, it wouldn't work. The kiosk monitor sent me to a non-GE kiosk to process my passport but then let me tag along with my wife and I "piggy-backed" through the lines on her GE. Only added about 5 mins and initially a lot of confusion on my part when my GE didn't work. Won't make that mistake again.
