Global Entry Interview Locations

Stan and I applied for Global Entry last December, and I got word yesterday that my application has been conditionally approved. We're still waiting for Stan's, but in the meantime I started looking to see how soon we might be able to schedule our interviews.

Although the Global Entry website https://globaltrustedtraveler.com/global-entry-interview-locations lists 95 locations, few of these showed up in the list available to me, even when I extended the range of desired dates out to the end of 2022! The sites that are most convenient to us - DFW, St Louis, Kansas City - didn't show up at all. I could have an interview this week in Albuquerque, though.

So is there a way to reset the location list? DFW and Kansas City are the easiest for us to get to, with either being an easy overnight or not-as-easy but doable one day trip.

Thanks for your help.

Refresh the interview dates continuously and you should see more nearby slots. We did our re-approval/renewal in Dec/Jan and I was able to get SeaTac interviews for one day out (assume that was a cancellation) and then a few weeks out. I checked regularly as my date approached and new interview times popped up quite often.

Tom_MN, yes, of course you're right. I just posted the link to the other site to show what locations I thought would be possible choices. But when I'm logged in just as soon as I plug in any date in the next two years, many of them disappear from the list.

Valerie, if you've signed up for a date and time, and something more convenient pops up, can you change it?

Yes - for our initial sign up a few years ago and then for my sign up in Dec., I could change my appointment endlessly - and I did!
For my partner, who had to renew in Jan 2021 due to a later birthday than mine, I noticed a change on the website. I went to change his appointment from March 13 to March 23 and the website now asks WHY I am changing the date. It still let me change the date, but that was the first time I was asked for a reason.

A plug for Albuquerque. We live here so it was the obvious choice. Glad to say it was easy to do. No waiting. Both of us in and out in 30 minutes.

Jane: every day in May and June is open at DFW. After that hasn’t opened up yet.

Skip the top search. Open DFW first then select the date. If you want July or later you have to wait.

You can’t schedule Stan yet.

Thanks for posting this Jane. I need to renew this year so I need to get on it. It took forever for me to figure out how to sign in last year to update my passport information...my word.

Thanks, Valerie and Tom_MN, for the tips.

I may go ahead and schedule mine, since I can change it, and wait for Stan's application to get approved.

cj-traveler, Albuquerque is still on our radar. It's not as convenient, but hey, what a great excuse to visit that wonderful area!

Don't forget you can also interview upon arrival if you want to wait until your next trip and come through an airport that has interiews. I did this when I had to renew a couple of years ago.

Pam,

Most people have to re-interview on renewal but some get re-approved without the interview (me, pre-COVID). I have no idea what the algorithm for that is.

A last point: GE expires five years from your next birthday after approval. Since you have 12 months from March 19 to have your interview, unless you have an imminent trip wait for your next birthday to pass.

The Global Entry crush for interviews that happened in 2019 has disappeared. Interviews are easy to get now.

More great tips!

Tom_MN, as a matter of fact, my birthday is less than a month from now, so I'll definitely wait.

Frank II, yes, several people have posted about interviewing while returning from their trip. It is returning, right? We usually return through DFW, occasionally O'Hare, rarely Atlanta or Houston.

Although Tulsa (TUL) is considered an international airport, no GE interviews are done there. The "International" designation evidently refers only to cargo here.

Tom, I didn't know that either!

I recognize this is in regards to comments within the thread vs. the OP but just wanted to offer a frame of reference to anyone looking to renew. My Global Entry was set to expire mid-April. I submitted my renewal form late Monday night, 22 March. I received a change of status notice just after 12:30 today, the 24th, that my renewal has been approved and I'm good to go. No interview, no new fingerprints, no new photo. Hopefully this helps anyone else who may have the same worries I had about what the process would look like.

Stan's conditional approval arrived today, and I just booked our interviews! There was only one day available at DFW in March - tomorrow. Nope, not doable. No dates in April. But we booked the two of us for Mid-May. Yes!

Thanks everyone, for your help.

And Points and Miles, thanks for the information. I'm sure lots of folks will be glad to see it.

Jane, I just applied yesterday, got my approval tonight, and am scheduled for an interview at DFW Wednesday. And there were LOTS of open spots at DFW next week. Every day. In case you decide you would rather not wait.
