Glasgow to Inverness public transport

What is the fastest method to travel from the Glasgow airport to Inverness. it seems there is an express bus from the Glasgow airport to a Glasgow central train station, but the direct train to central inverness train station leaves from Glasgow queen street station. Any recommendations appreciated. I called Scotland National rail and was told there is NO train between Glasgow central train station and Glasgow queen street station. thank you

Glasgow Airport Express is the fastest link between Glasgow Airport and Glasgow City Centre. Departing from Stance 1 at Glasgow Airport you'll arrive in the City Centre in just 15 minutes.

We pick up and drop off at St Vincent Street near Central Station, George Square near Queen Street Station and Buchanan Bus Station.

A 24-hour service is in operation, with frequent timetables and through the night journeys, daily.

£10 fare

Citylink buses to Inverness another option, the Goldlink ones.are very fancy.
Aprox £24 from.Glasgow 3.40h travel.time

If you book in advance via Megabus the fare can be as low as £11.70.
Its another option

The Citylink/Megabus bus runs almost hourly at 55 minutes past the hour with just 3 stops- Perth (Broxden Park and Ride), Pitlochry and Aviemore. Even in the hours when there is no direct bus you take an Aberdeen bound Bus and change onto a bus from Edinburgh to Inverness bus at Perth (Broxden)- as a through booking. The Gold brand has now been retired- all the buses are now the same. Some of the Gold buses used to be sleeper buses with bunks for routes to London. A concept which was too expensive to keep on operating.

The Airport Bus also drops calls at Buchanan Bus Station, so a seamless journey.

The Bus is 20 minutes slower than the train, but easily wins on frequency.

Between the two routes from Perth to Inverness it is a half hourly frequency.

The airport bus also drops you one block from Glasgow Queen Street Station.

OK well your choices are coach or train. Personally I would take the train as it gives you more room to walk around etc. Roughly a three hour trip but the scenery is pretty good.
