Has anyone out there traveled from Gib to Prague? I'm flying to Prague from the states, and a friend in Gib is meeting me. He is somewhat scared of flying, but will do it. He could leave from southern Spain, perhaps Marbella. Just wondering if anyone has taken the train? Flights from Gib go through London, I assume. Any suggestions out there?
Unfortunately you didn't give us any travel dates so I looked up prices and connections for September 2010. You can fly Malaga (Marbella doesn't have an airport) to Prague on Lufthansa or Swiss with changes in Frankfurt or Zurich for €229 roundtrip incl. taxes. Malaga to Nuremberg is from €170 roundtrip...
Czech discount carrier Smartwings flies Malaga-Prague direct. Spanish discount carrier Vueling can also take you from Malaga to Prague, through Barcelona. Otherwise, you will have to connect through London. Be aware that, for many discount airlines like easyjet and Ryanair, you will have to purchase two separate tickets, and these legs will be considered two separate runs....so if you miss the connecting flight in London, you are out of luck.
This is all great info...I will let him know. I appreciate you both replying and I will pass on the info. Travel isn't until March..but this gives him time to decide what to do.
Without checking the schedules myself, the train would take at least 2-3 days. Fly.
My family had to travel from Granada to Prague in November and found the best flight from Malaga with Swiss Air. We had one stop[INVALID]Zurich, I believe. You just have to fly that distance!
Definately fly. I would use Smart Wings from Malaga to Prague. Website: http://www.smartwings.com .
So grateful for all your replies. I had never heard of Smartwings! This is why I frequent Rick Steves' site and books.
