Getting to Zurich Airport at 4:30 a.m.

I have an early flight out of Zurich and wonder about transportation to airport so early in the morning 6:35 a.m. flight departure. What can I expect for available transportation so early in the morning. Can I use train, or what reliable, economical transportation. Appreciate the help.

The Radisson Blu is IN the Zurich airport. Pricy but sometimes they have deals, esp. on weekends.

Where is your journey to the airport going to originate from? You can check schedules at the Swiss Rail site: sbb.ch In general trains starting running between 4am-5am. For such an early flight you may want to consider staying at one of the airport hotels.

Thanks. Took a look at sbb first train just after 5:00 a.m. concerned that we might miss our 6:25 flight? Will look for economical, quiet hotel by airport with shuttle for our last night if we need to, haven't booked any hotel yet. Thanks again,
Floyd

Thanks Sasha. We are looking at the airport hotels for our last night in Zurich. Had a nice stroll on Bainbridge when we visited Seattle, off subject but nice time there, seemed to be a bit of an artist colony. Floyd

I think less than 90 minutes will be cutting it close. We flew out of Zurich in the morning a couple years ago and got there two hours early and barely made it. There are 2-3 checkpoints and a couple of shuttle trains to take. I would recommend the closer airport hotel that has a shuttle bus that will get you there between 4:30-5am. Good luck!!

Floyd , have a look at this , it might work for you ; Novotel Airport Messe at Lindbergh Platz 1 , Glattpark , Zurich . We stayed there the night before our 8:30 AM flight .Left the hotel at 5:15 AM to be three hours in front of the departure . The hotel is a fifteen minute ride on the # 10 tram from the Hauptbahnhof , and only a few minutes from the hotel to the airport on the # 10 which stops directly in front of the hotel ( which was really nice ) . You need to check the schedules to see if there is night service on the tram , but if so ,that would work very well .

Another vote for the Radisson Blu. You'll be less sleep deprived and a lot less stressed about arriving on time.
