I need to get to Marco Polo (from San Marco) by 7am and would like to avoid the high cost of a water taxi. Do I read the timetable right that the Alilaguna Blue line is the early morning ride to airport?

Oh Tim I feel your pain, I did this last year. The ride to the airport from San Marco Square takes about an hour, I got up at 3am to catch the 3:30am vapretto and got there a bit before 5am (had a 7am flight). However, I did discover at that early morning hour I really didn't need to be there 2 hours in advance as the airport was practically deserted, I've never made it quicker through security! Ask at your hotel and they can tell you which vapretto to take, but do remember it is about an hour ride.
