getting to montegrotto terme from marco polo airport in venice

We are staying at the royal mioni san in montegrotto terme and flying into venice. What is the best way to get there without paying a fortune?

Looks like the cheapest way would be to take the bus to the Venezia Mestre train station and then a train to the Terme Euganee station in Montegrotto Terme. The train is only 3,40 € for second class and only takes half an hour or so.
