getting to (Europebycar) website

Just noticed in Steves book about leasing 21 days or longer- the idea is new to me, and attractive. But google doesn't put me on the exact address as above in the title.
Worried about being spoofed and scammed. I am not an experienced renter.

Is a 6-7 passenger vehicle for a month at $2000 a reasonable number? (with 0 deductible CDW)

I am excited about possibly driving to Russia from Rome or Munich. Starting point is no matter. But Steve does say "most easily picked up in France". I don't understand.

put 'car leases in France' in the search box above and you will see a recent thread on this topic. People who have leased to drive throughout Europe have found it work well. However, I would doubt that driving into Russia with any lease or rental would be allowed. Good luck.

Europebycar has ceased operation but it was never the only one. These programs are operated out of France, with French cars, due to a particular law there that allows it. Pick-up and drop-off locations include neighboring countries, but not Russia nor anywhere near there. You'll see the list of offices when you click through the current links at https://www.ricksteves.com/travel-tips/transportation/car-leasing.

I found the US phone # and will call.
My desired trip is like I do here in US and Canada, 5-10 thousand miles; as far as the road can take me. Ukraine and more if they let me. Think traditional N American road trip. Not much done in western EU I think.
The website says "42 European countries" which sounds like all of them?

Well, maybe.

I see some vendors selling things that count "countries" creatively - here's one example:

"Covers 30 countries in Europe: Andorra, Azores, Aland islands, Germany, Austria, Balearic islands, Belgium, Canary islands , Cyprus, Corfu, Crete, the Cyclades, Croatia, Denmark, Spain, Estonia, Finland, France mainland, Gibraltar, Greece, Guernsey, Hungary, Ireland, Iceland, Italy, Jersey, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Madeira, Malta, Norway, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Czech Republic, Rhodes, Romania, United Kingdom, Sardinia, Sicily, Slovakia, Switzerland, Sweden"

I'd want more specifics than just "42 countries" to be sure the country I need was on their list.

"Well, maybe" is right, David!

Some people count Russia as part of Europe; most atlases do. Insurance may beg to differ. I'd love to drive to Krasnoyarsk, or as far as road extends.
