Does anyone know how to get to the Civitavecchia port from Anzio? Is there a way of taking the train? Or a reasonable cab fare...I was quoted 220 euros for 4 people :( Was a bit too much and we are looking for other options. Please help!

Who quoted you that? I hope you are not using Raileurope. The fare using regional trains (almost as fast as Freccia) is 8.60 euro pp, roughly $50 total. Use Trenitalia "Tutti Treni" function and a date not more than 7 days from now. Since they are regional trains, no need to reserve, just buy when you need them.

When you go to the Trenitalia website, use the Italian version of the site to see the gray 'Tutti Treni' tab inside the red box where you can query routes/tickets. The gray tab on the English version of the site will say 'Passes', not 'Tutti Treni' (All Trains). The Trenitalia web presence is interesting. ;) I suppose they think English-speaking people are only interested in the high-speed trains and using rail passes, not in the regionale (local) trains with more stops. Use Google Translate if you need translation help.
