Getting to Charles De Gaulle from central Paris

I've researched taking our luggage on the RER line B from St Michel Notre Dame to CDG Sunday morning but I don't know if this is such a good idea at 7 in the morning plus I can't find any Tabac that sells tickets to zone 5! Can anyone out there offer some advice?
