I will be taking the train from Paris to Amsterdam-then I need to get to my airport hotel near Amsterdam airport. any suggestions?

Assuming you take the Thalys service: it has a stop at Schiphol airport. The hotel has possibly a shuttle service from there; otherwise it would be a short taxi ride.

Thalys High Speed trains stop at Amsterdam Schiphol airport BEFORE they get to Amsterdam Centraal. Check the stops for your train, and you will see this.
You can get off at Schiphol and take whatever transport your hotel recommends.
With hindsight, you could have bought your ticket to Schiphol only.

There are a couple of hotels within walking distance of Schipol. Easy to access.

You will have all sorts of options for airport hotels. The properties will have airport shuttle information on their respective websites. We always stay at the the Hampton by Hilton in Hoofddorp which not only has an airport shuttle (it is shared with other Hilton properties) but also is a 3 minute walk to the Hoofddorp train station which has trains running quite often that go directly to Schiphol. It also has breakfast included which you can enjoy at the hotel or take with you to the airport.
We are going to Paris in the November and are arriving at Schiphol and then taking the Thalys to Gare du Nord. We will also be returning to JFK via AMS.
