Twice I have tried to purchase tickets on the Amsterdam central on the Thalys - THA 9328 to Paris Nord (Fr) on 10/04/2013 | Departure: 08:19
Class: 2nd class using my Visa and then with American Express cards. Each time I was told it did not go thru because of the card business blocked it. I checked with both and they said my entries were correct and they did not block the transaction. How can I purchase these tickets?

Are you sure you were using the Bahn website? The Bahn does not sell tickets online for train routes entirely outside Germany. Also, Oct 2013 is outside the normal time window for online sales at this time. Try the Thalys website, www.thalys.com.

Are you trying to purchase tickets for October 4 2013 or April 10 2013 ? ( European date format )

I assume he is talking about April 10, not October 4. This would be the right time to purchase for April 10.

David , another possibility ; check the expiration date on the card , is it prior to the travel date ? also security code on card , is it correct ?

Did you inform your credit card company before the purchase? I know you say they claim they didn't block it, but did they even see it presented? BTW, you can buy Amsterdam to Paris on the Eurostar website, it might be friendlier to your credit card. Also, many do not even take American Express. Bottom line is I'd try the Eurostar website. Tickets for that train on 10 April are £61 each.
