Please help me! I am doing a project for school and am having an impossible time figuring out how to get from Zermatt to Innsbruck. I want to use the Eurail if possible. Any advice is very appreciated!
Sara,
If you go to raileurope.com then to their individual ticket area then put in your cities, they do have a way to get there.
Thank you so much...I certainly wasn't looking for the answer as much as a way to get it. And that I did. Thank you!
I used to work for rail europe and their web site is useless - in fact, the employees don't use it to look up anything. Go to the Germain rail system's web site (http://www.bahn.de/p/view/international/englisch/international_guests.shtml)
This will help you find all the different routes between two cities. I don't think you can purchase tickets from this site - but at least it gives you the routes so you know how to price out the tickets on rail europes site.
Sara, you may also want to look at the Swiss rail website www.sbb.ch. You might also want to look at the Glacier Express as your journey from Zermatt to Brig will be on this train for the first leg of your journey. You will change trains at Brig and a few other places. Also note that if your are trying to determine the fare, RailEurope is a broker and charges a fee for their services. Ticket prices are higher. If you were to book the trip from Zermatt, you would probably have to pay in Swiss Francs, the money from Switzerland.
