Hopefully this is my LAST question about my trip! :) If I drop a rental car off at the Venice Marco Polo airport at about 9pm on a Sunday, what would be the best way to get to the St. Lucia train station to catch an 11pm train to Munich? Do the buses run that late, and are they easy to figure out? Or would a taxi be best? I can't seem to find any links online to indicate times or cost. Thanks!

Celeste, checking on the DeutschBahn site, I see that the Sunday, 22:51 out of Venezia S Lucia stops at Venezia Mestre at 23:04 then several other stops before arriving in Munich at 06:30. Rather than catching the train at S Lucia, and since it's late at night, would you consider a taxi to Venezia Mestre? Personally that's what I would do!

Darcy, would they allow us to do that since we're supposed to be on the train at St. Lucia? (We've already booked those tickets from SL to Munich)

Here is the bus schedule from Marco Polo airport to St. Lucia (actually Piazzale Roma). You should have plenty of time to make the connection. The bus costs €5/p and takes 20 min. Buses leave every 30 min. The train that leaves St. Lucia takes 13 min to Mestre (the price is the same). If I remember, you have 15 min after the train leaves to claim your reservation before they could give it to someone else. You should check that time limit in case your train is late and you want to go to Mestre instead (but the bus to Mestre only saves 7 min). Here is the schedule to Mestre.
