Any tips for getting from Sarlat to San Sebastian, Spain?
Check the schedules on DB Bahn by filling in the starting and ending destinations, a dummy date and an early time to leave. The results will show some options to click on. You can keep clicking to get more details. Be sure to click on the map that shows you the route. Pay close attention to the layovers. They are pretty long. We did this the opposite direction and 2 stops/train changes are the minimum. The first one is Bordeaux and the second is at the border station in or near Hendaye, France. DB Bahn shows some other options for going on into San Sebastian than what we did. We used the commuter/metro kind of train called Euskotren which was a very short walk across a paved lot from the Hendaye train station. We just got the tickets from a machine in San Sebastian because we left so early. You will need to check to see if that's still possible in Hendaye. I'm sure there have been lots of changes and improvements since 2009 when we did it. You can't buy your tickets at DB Bahn, but it's the best for finding routes and figuring out how and when you want to go.
