Getting from Rome to Amsterdam

My husband and I will be traveling to Europe from late August through early September. We are starting in Rome, and would like to get to Amsterdam, Paris, and end up in Shannon, Ireland. Currently, I'm having trouble finding a feasible way of getting from Rome to Amsterdam. I'm hesitant to go with EasyJet and RyanAir due to the extra fees they have as well as the negative reviews I've read. There also doesn't seem to be an easy way to get there by train. Does anyone have any other ideas?

As discount airlines go Easyjet is a much better operator, as opposed to Ryanair, which I despise! Have you looked into the national carriers like KLM or Alitalia? I assume you're just going one-way, so it might be cheaper to purchase a round-trip ticket an "throw-away" the unused portion.

Easyjet is my preferred inter-EU airline and I have never had a problem with them over the last 5 years! Robin' Ryan, on the other hand, I do my best to always avoid, however, don't know how you can get to Shannon cheaply without using them.
