We arrive in Paris on September 14th and plan to stay 3 or 4 nights. We plan to head to Amsterdam afterwards, but an important stop is the Orval Brewery in Belgium first, specifically for a special tour that we can book for September 18th. What's our best method to get there? I can't quite figure out how to get to Orval from Paris (and then, on to Amsterdam) because I can't find a rail map that includes the smaller stations in more than one country at a time! Also, I'm not sure if it would be better to arrive and stay somewhere near the Orval Brewery for the night of the 18th (and if so, where to stay?). Any help would be appreciated!! The directions on the Orval website are not clear and seem to put us 20km outside of the location.
I partially answered this in another post, but...
Belgium has an excellent rail network between cities, but it does not cover the smaller towns and rural areas. Quite frankly, this isn't any easy destination to reach via public transportation, although it is possible. PM me if you want more information. Don't plan on getting to Amsterdam on the same day without a car.
