I'm trying to find a decent hotel or B&B within 3 or so miles of the train station in Auvers and I can't find where the closest train station is. One place that sounded good was filled up on Sept 30th which is the only nite we need. Others sounded kind of seedy. How far would it be from the train station to the center of town? Can we find a bus that would be faster than a train to get from Paris to Auvers-sur-Oise?? Mickey Cedar Rapids, Ia

Click on the link below and you'll see hotels near the Gare (train station) in Auvers-sur-Oise, plus a map showing the station's location. http://tinyurl.com/c9n224t Here's how to get there from Paris: From the Gare du Nord take Metro line 5 (direction Place d'Italie) to the Gare d'Austerlitz. Then take the RER C from Gare d'Austerlitz toward Pontoise. Disembark at St-Ouens L'Aumone (approx. 1hr.). Switch to the Persan Beaumont Creil line (walk downstairs and change to opposite platform; consult screen for departures) and get off at Gare d'Auvers-sur-Oise (approx. 15min.).

If you depart from Gare du Nord, a slightly faster route would be to take the RER B to Saint-Michel Notre-Dame and transfer to the RER C there. Be aware that the RER C line divides on the west side of Paris so be sure to take a train whose final stop is Pontoise, not Versailles-Rive Gauche.
