Does anyone know of a quicker way to get from Mont. St. Michel to Amboise, in May? The fastest way I've found, so far, is a bus to Rennes and then train to Amboise, beginning at 9:30 and arriving at 17:42. I'd appreciate your suggestions.

Rental car? According to viamichelin.com, the driving time is 3 hours 21 minutes.

I'd also recommend a rental car. Where are you going after Amboise? We were returning to Paris, so dropped the car off at the car rental place at the train station in St. Pierre des Corps (close to Tours) and then took the train back to Paris. Very easy.
